Mission Love Seeds Inc., a ministry based in Destin, obeyed God’s calling and started helping children living in extreme poverty in four villages in the Philippines. Since its inception in 2004, Mission Love Seeds has touched the lives of hundreds of children, and many more request help.

“We are helping about 1,000 children at this time in four villages in the Philippines each month,” Barbi Carroll, president of Mission Love Seeds, said in an interview. “Our goal is to sponsor 5,000 children in the next two years.”

John Hawbaker, vice president of Mission Love Seeds, has visited the Philippines and seen the need first-hand.

“After John’s first visit to the Philippines, we were able to work with a supplier in the Philippines to purchase rice and food there for 30-40 percent less and save the cost of shipping,” Carroll said. “The cost of shipping a large box is $85. We can purchase a lot of rice with $85.”

Mission Love Seeds continues to ship donated supplies of children’s clothing, shoes , schools supplies, medical supplies and anything that is donated for the Philippines.

The organization now needs sponsors, for $30 a month. A sponsor will receive a kit that contains information about a child such as, name, age, location and the child’s personal story. The sponsor also will receive information on how to write to the child.

For only $1 a day, you can help a child in need. The dollar provides nutrition, clothing, medical needs, education and Bible studies for a child living in extreme poverty.

When you become a Mission Love Seeds sponsor, you open the door for a child’s future and change your life as well. To become a sponsor visit www.MissionLoveSeeds.org or call (850) 650-5583 or (800) 456-9138.
